COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP/WVOC) - Twelve people have been ticketed outside the Statehouse while protesting South Carolina's decision not to accept federal money to expand Medicaid.
This marks the second week in a row that protesters have blocked the parking garage for their Truthful Tuesday demonstration.
This time, the protesters briefly stepped into a road and were asked by Columbia police to walk over to a set of steps to be written tickets.
Unlike last week, they were not handcuffed and were ticketed at the scene for disorderly conduct.
The demonstration lasted less than 15 seconds.
The Truthful Tuesday protesters have been demonstrating weekly both inside and outside the Statehouse.
