Two Midlands schools are among five named as 2014 Palmetto's Finest award winners.

Presented by the South Carolina Association of School Administrators, the award highlights innovative schools where students are given personalized instruction and high expectations.

Student achievement is the foundation for all award criteria, and schools go through an intensive application process requiring self-evaluation, peer review and on-site examinations.

Camden High School in Kershaw County is one of the Midlands schools named Palmetto's Finest, and Fairfield Magnet School for Math and Science in Winnsboro also shares the recognition.
