A man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison and fined $17,500 for possessing child pornography.

The State newspaper reports the U.S. Attorney's Office says evidence showed Richard Rau was using a website to make suggestive comments about a minor female and was exchanging child porn with others.

Attorney Bill Nettles says investigators found child pornography on Rau's computers and iPhone.

In addition to the prison time and fine, he also forfeited five computers and must serve five years of supervised release.

The case was investigated as part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative by the U.S. Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
