Murder-Suicide Involved Troubled Relationship

Family members say a troubled relationship led to a murder-suicide where the bodies of a man and woman were found in a Columbia parking lot early Friday morning.

It happened about 5:40 a.m. in the 3300 block of North Main Street near Sunset Drive.

Relatives say the two had been in a lengthy relationship, but he had become possessive and she wanted to move on.

Police say 23-year-old Aja Robinson was shot twice by 25-year-old Jeremy Mickens, who then shot himself in the head.

Both died at the scene.
