A parent charged with assaulting a school resource officer at Dreher High School has been put on a no-trespassing notice for all Richland School District One property.
Officials say 47-year-old David Bass has also been terminated from his duties as an assistant boys and girls swimming coach at Dreher.
Police say Bass had been notified about a medical emergency involving his daughter and when he arrived at the school, he was told to wait outside a room while medical personnel finished talking with the student.
But officials say Bass then kicked in the door, grabbed a school resource officer by the neck and pushed his head into a wall.
Bass is charged with third-degree assault and battery, disturbing schools and resisting arrest.
Bass was a non-district employee who received a coaching supplement for helping with the Dreher swim teams.
