(Columbia, SC)  --  New polling data proves Democrat Vincent Sheheen still has an uphill battle to beat Republican Nikki Haley in the November gubernatorial election.  The data collected by Rasmussen Reports shows 51-percent of voters support Haley, while 36-percent are backing Sheheen.

While Rasmussen is more conservative, a Public Policy Polling survey recently had the candidates in a virtual tie.  This is a rematch for both candidates, since Sheheen lost to Haley in the 2010 race.
