ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP/WVOC) - The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down for a mile and a half in Orangeburg County earlier this week.
The Times and Democrat newspaper reports the tornado had winds up to 85 miles per hour and touched down near Bowman on Monday night.
It cut a path about 75 yards wide.
No structures were damaged but a number of trees were uprooted.
The weather service reports it was the weakest classification of twister, an EF0.
Officials say it was just about a year ago that at EF1 tornado hit near the same area.
