Kershaw County authorities are investigating a shooting death over the weekend where the victim was found in a car crash.

About 5:30 Saturday morning, a sheriff's deputy responded to the wreck in Camden near the intersection of Black River Road and Pathfinder Trail.

Sheriff Jim Matthews says 25-year-old Antwan Dixon of Camden was found behind the wheel of a burning car that was in a ditch.

The deputy was able to remove Dixon and he was airlifted to a hospital where it was discovered he had been shot in the head.

He died Saturday night from the gunshot wound.

Investigators found multiple bullet holes in the car and several shell casings along the road.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Kershaw County Sheriff's Office or Crimestoppers.
