Teen Fatally Shot Inside Home Identified

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)-Richland County Coroner Gary Watts has identified the man killed inside a home on Cherrywood Drive Sunday morning.

Watts said, Jalin T. Palmer, 17, of May Oak Circle, died at the scene. An autopsy Sunday morning indicated that Palmer died from a single gunshot wound to the upper torso.

Richland County Sheriff deputies responded to the shooting in the 200 block of Cherrywood drive just after midnight when they found Palmer.

Authorities said the Palmer suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body.

Deputies arrested Nicholas Butler, 20, at the scene. Butler is being charged with involuntary manslaughter.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate the incident.
