Less than a week after appearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Gov. Nikki Haley has been overwhelmingly approved by the panel to be US Ambassador to the United Nations.
The full Senate must now vote on Haley’s confirmation, a vote that could come as early as later today.
If confirmed, Haley will resign her position and Lt. Gov. Henry McMaster will fill the final two years of her unexpired term. Once her resignation is received McMaster will immediately become our state’s Chief Executive.
