Sen. Scott Introduces Bill In Honor Of SC Police Shooting Victim

A South Carolina senator wants to honor an unarmed man killed by a police officer.

Senator Tim Scott last week introduced a bill named for Walter Scott, who was shot and killed by a North Charleston police officer two years ago.

The Walter Scott Notification Act would require law enforcement agencies to record details of officer-involved shootings into a national database.

Scott says the information could be used to better address the issues that led to the shootings.
