Gowdy Steps Down From Ethics Committee

(Washington, DC)  --  A South Carolina congressman is resigning from a high-profile committee.

Citing a challenging workload, Republican Trey Gowdy announced last week he is stepping down from his role on the House Ethics Committee.

He said his chairmanship on another committee has prevented him from keeping his other appointments.

Gowdy plans to continue to serve on the ethics panel until a replacement is found.
