New Bill Would Make It Easier To Prosecute School Threats

(Columbia, SC)  --  A lawmaker is trying to close what she calls a gap when it comes to dealing with threats against schools.

Charleston Senator Sandy Senn yesterday introduced a bill that would make it easier to prosecute anyone who makes a threat against a school.

Unfortunately, that has become an increasing problem since last week's deadly school shooting in Florida.

The bill would bring tougher penalties than current laws, and the Sheriff's Association and the Police Chief's Association testified yesterday in support of the bill.
