McMaster Issues Executive Order On Prison Contraband

(Columbia, SC)  --  The governor is taking steps he hopes will prevent another deadly prison riot.

Governor Henry McMaster yesterday announced an executive order designed to make it easier to stop the flow of contraband into prisons.

McMaster believes smuggled cell phones contributed to the riot that killed seven people in Bishopville this month.

McMaster also announced he's waiving regulations to allow the SCDC to quickly hire more corrections officers.
