Judge Rules Nuclear Site Construction Can Continue

(Columbia, SC)  --  Construction of a controversial energy factory can continue near Aiken.

A federal judge yesterday overturned the federal government's effort to suspend construction of the nuclear fuel factory.

The Energy Department wanted to shut down the project, in part because of cost, but State Attorney General Alan Wilson sued the DOE to keep construction going.

Wilson says the project is good for the state's economy, and he calls the ruling a victory for the people of South Carolina.
