Sheriff Says Officers Had No Chance In Deadly Shooting

(Florence, SC) -- After searching the home, Richland County's sheriff believes officers caught in a shootout had no chance.

Sheriff Leon Lott released some details yesterday in the shooting that killed Florence Police Officer Terrence Carraway two weeks ago today.

Lott says more than a hundred guns were found in Frederick Hopkins' home in Vintage Place, and the accused shooter fired almost 40 shots.

Lott also says Hopkins knew the officers were coming because they had contacted him to discuss a sex assault charge against his son.
