Mega Millions Winner Finally Comes Forward

(Columbia, SC) -- Patience is definitely paying off for one South Carolinian.

The SC Education Lottery announced yesterday that the winner of October's record one-and-a-half billion dollar Mega Millions jackpot finally came forward.

The winner told lottery officials they showed up at KC Mart in Simpsonville that fateful day and bought the winning Quick Pick ticket after letting someone else buy their ticket first.

The anonymous winner will take home a one-time lump sum payment of over 877-million dollars.
