Girl Scout Good Samaritan Pleads Guilty To Drug Conspiracy

(Greenville, SC) -- A man who warmed hearts with a good deed for a Greenville County Girl Scout troop may spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Piedmont's Detric McGowan pleaded guilty yesterday to running a drug distribution network and trying to get a prosecutor killed. McGowan was hailed as a Good Samaritan after he bought more than 500-dollars' worth of cookies from girl scouts in Mauldin in February.

Days later, though, the 46-year-old was arrested and charged with running a multi-million dollar drug empire.
