Man Suspected Of Killing Nevaeh Adams Appears In Court

(Sumter, SC) -- The lawyer for the man accused of killing a woman and her child in Sumter County is urging people not to rush to judgment.

Daunte Johnson had a hearing yesterday for the deaths of Sheree Bradley and five-year-old Nevaeh Adams.

Investigators say Johnson confessed to the killings last month, but a police officer testified yesterday that Johnson's first interview with police was not recorded.

Police also say DNA evidence points to Johnson as the killer, but an officer testified that Adam's DNA was not found on the murder weapon.
