Senate Education Subcommittee Considering Education Savings Account

(Columbia, SC) -- A panel of South Carolina senators are considering a bill that would create education savings accounts.

The Equal Opportunity Education Scholarship Account Act would transfer state funding for students into an account that can be used for private school tuitions or for services needed for students with special needs.

The Senate Education Subcommittee heard testimony on the bill yesterday. They're expected to meet again next week to discuss the proposal.
