Proposed Bills Would Change Future Presidential Primary Voting

(Columbia, SC) -- Proposed bills could change voter participation in future presidential primaries.

South Carolina lawmakers are considering several bills that would restrict voters registered with other parties from voting in the opposite party's presidential primary election.

South Carolina is one of 15 states to have an open primary.

That means voters do not need to register with a party in order to cast a ballot.
