Governor McMaster Speaks In Favor Of Peaceful Protests, Condemns Violence

(Columbia, SC) -- South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster supports protests, but condemns violence. 

He briefed the state yesterday afternoon after violent protests in Columbia and Charleston on Saturday night. 

McMaster said he welcomes those who assemble peacefully, but added that the State does not tolerate "lawlessness, violence, and destruction of property" or harm to other residents.
