FBI Investigating Suspicious Water Bottles Found In Columbia

(Columbia, SC) -- Local, state, and federal agencies are investigating suspicious water bottles located at protests in South Carolina's capital city.

The Columbia Police Department Bomb Squad found plastic bottles containing a white milky substance and partially covered in duct tape. They were in the area of Lincoln, Laurel, and Richland streets.

The FBI is testing the contents after a field test found a small trace of something that can be caustic to the skin.

This comes after three Columbia officers reported burns, blisters, and irritation to their hands and arms during protests on May 30th.
