Kershaw County Council Does Not Pass Mask Mandate

(Kershaw County, SC) -- Kershaw County will not be requiring face coverings by law.

The County Council voted 4-to-2 against an emergency ordinance that would have mandated masks in all unincorporated areas of the county.

Council members said the decision was made in part because the mandate is not enforceable.

Council members still say everyone should wear a mask in public places, and they passed a resolution in July encouraging residents to do so.
