South Carolina Mail-In Absentee Ballots Will Not Require Witness Signature

(Columbia, SC) -- Mail-in absentee ballots will not require a witness signature for the General Election this November.

A federal judge in South Carolina ordered the state Election Commission to let voters know that requirement is being removed.

This comes after Governor McMaster signed a law letting all South Carolina residents vote absentee for any reason due to the pandemic.

An amendment to remove the signature provision did not pass the legislature.
