(Columbia, SC) -- The South Carolina Senate has approved a new director for the Department of Health and Environmental Control.
Dr. Edward Simmer was confirmed yesterday. Senators voted 40 to 1 on the confirmation.
Governor McMaster says Simmer has the qualifications and leadership skills necessary to lead the Department.
