McMaster Bans Migrant Children From Placement In State

(Columbia, SC) -- A new executive order prohibits the federal government from putting unaccompanied migrant children into foster care and group homes in South Carolina.

Governor McMaster issued the order yesterday after visiting the southern border on Friday.

He says South Carolina's children must be given first priority for placement into foster care.

This comes after McMaster consulted with DSS on the child welfare system's capacity in the state.
