Man Accused Of Hijacking School Bus Makes Two Escape Attempts

(Columbia, SC) -- A man accused of hijacking a school bus is now also accused of trying to escape custody twice.

Twenty-three-year-old Jovan Collazo was a soldier in training at Fort Jackson when he reportedly hijacked a Forest Lake Elementary School bus with a rifle.

Since then, he allegedly tried to get away from a guard at the Alvin S. Detention Center on May 5th, punching the guard in the face as part of the escape attempt.

Deputies say Collazo also tried to escape from an area hospital.
