(Irmo, SC) -- Some parents are signing a petition after the resignation of the superintendent of the year.
Dr. Christina Melton resigned from Lexington-Richland School District 5 last week, as did school board member Ed White.
A petition is asking State Superintendent of Education Molly Spearman to impose sanctions on the school board.
Some parents are also planning a candlelight vigil this evening before the next school board meeting.
