South Carolina State Removes James Clark From University President Role

(Orangeburg, SC) -- South Carolina State has a new acting university president.

Trustees voted 10 to 3 to remove James Clark from the role on Tuesday.

They've instead appointed U.S. Army Colonel Alexander Conyers until further action is taken by the board.

Clark had received a vote of no confidence from the faculty senate in March after facing criticism over a decline in enrollment.
