Charleston City Council Passes Resolution Recommending Face Masks, Vaccines

(Charleston, SC) -- The Charleston City Council is encouraging kids to wear face masks.

They held a special meeting Wednesday, passing a resolution that asks residents to follow CDC guidelines. That means they recommend everyone wear masks indoors and that anyone over age 12 get the vaccine against COVID-19.

The city may also consider a mask mandate for schools, despite it being a violation of a proviso in the state budget.

The City Council will consider the mandate at their next meeting on August 17th.
