Richland One Keeps Mask Mandate Despite Supreme Court Ruling

(Columbia, SC) -- Despite a ruling from the South Carolina Supreme Court, Richland School District One is keeping their mask mandate in place.

The state's highest court ruled against the City of Columbia's ordinance that orders elementary and middle school students to wear masks in schools within city limits.

There is still another case pertaining to school mask mandates waiting for a decision from the Court.

District officials say their face covering policy is still in effect as they await that ruling.
