Settlement Announced In SC Church Shooting

(Washington, DC) -- The Justice Department is reaching a settlement with the families of victims of the fatal shooting in 2015 at a South Carolina church.

Families of those killed will receive between six and seven-and-a-half million dollars. Those who survived will get five-million.

They filed suit after Dylann Roof shot and killed nine people during a Bible study at the Mother Emanuel AME church in Charleston.

The lawsuits centered around allegations of negligence by the FBI when they failed to stop Roof from purchasing a firearm.
