Gov. McMaster: No Need For State Of Emergency Due To Omicron

(Columbia, SC) - Governor Henry McMaster says the omicron variant will not cause a state of emergency in South Carolina.

He spoke about COVID-19 on Wednesday, saying there is no need for the state to shut down.

McMaster also says schools and businesses will not close and masks will not be mandated.

The governor reminds people to avoid going to the emergency room to be tested for the virus, instead reminding residents of the over 320 testing sites in the state.
