South Carolina Primary Election Results Are In

(Undated) -- Results are coming in after from four states that held primary elections on Tuesday.

There's been a lot of focus on South Carolina, with races there seen as the latest test of former President Trump's brand power.

Congressman Tom Rice, who voted to impeach Trump in connection to the January 6th Capitol riot, lost to challenger Russell Fry, who is backed by the former president.

As voters were heading to the polls yesterday, Rice told reporters "Donald Trump is not the future of the Republican Party."

Also in South Carolina, GOP Congresswoman Nancy Mace, who has criticized the ex-president, defeated Trump-endorsed candidate Katie Arrington.

Governor Henry McMaster easily won his primary and will square off against Joe Cunningham in November.

Jim Clyburn will return to Congress for a 16th time and Alan Wilson secured a 4th term as Attorney General as both men won their primaries and are unopposed in November.

Superintendent of Education races for both Republicans and Democrats will go to a runoff in two weeks.
