(Columbia SC) - The Republican candidate for South Carolina Superintendent of Education is determined after a statewide runoff election.
Palmetto State Teachers Association Executive Director Kathy Maness was vying for the role against Palmetto Promise Institute President and CEO Ellen Weaver.
Around 9:20 p.m., Maness conceded.
Now Weaver will run against Democratic candidate Lisa Ellis in the general election in November.
