(Columbia, SC) -- DHEC is warning of an invasive species of ticks found on a South Carolina farm.
The infestation of Asian longhorned ticks was discovered on a cattle farm in York County last month.
Smaller numbers of the ticks were found on dogs in Pickens and Lancaster counties in 2020.
DHEC is asking people to take precautions as the ticks can transmit dozens of diseases to animals and humans.
