Rise In Flu Cases Raising Concerns

(Columbia, SC) -- The high number of flu cases across the state is raising concern in the healthcare community.

Clinicians expect the number of cases to rise in coming weeks and urge people to get their flu shot and get their kids their flu shot.

The South Carolina Health Department says widespread activity wasn't detected until January for this past flu season while doctors are already seeing widespread infections this month.

Officials say the increased number of flu cases is resulting in increased numbers of hospitalizations.
