House Considers Bill Aimed At Deterring Crime For Those Out On Bond

(Columbia, SC) -- South Carolina House lawmakers are considering a bill aimed at addressing public safety.

If passed, the measure would automatically revoke the initial bond for someone accused of committing a violent crime while out on that bond.

Under the new system, a new bond hearing would then be held within 14 days.

The Judiciary Committee advanced the bill to the House floor 16 to 7.
