South Carolina Receiving $2.2 Million From Settlement Over TurboTax Filings

(Columbia, SC) --South Carolina is getting millions of dollars from a settlement with the makers of TurboTax software. 

The South Carolina Attorney General says Intuit will pay out 141-million dollars to several states after charging low income taxpayers for filing federal take returns that were eligible for free filing through the IRS in 2022.

 South Carolina will receive two-point-two million dollars of the settlement.Checks are expected to go to 72-thousand people in the state as early as next week. 

Eligible taxpayers are expected to get about 30-dollar each as their part of the settlement.
