Guilty Plea Avoids Trial For 15-Year-Old Columbia Girl's Murder

(Columbia, SC) -- Prosecutors in Columbia will not be taking the third suspect in a 15-year-old girl's murder to trial.

Jaylen Wilson yesterday pleaded guilty just before his trial was set to start. He is the third person charged with the April 2021 killing of Sanaa Amenhotep.

Investigators say Wilson and two others lured Amenhotep out to the woods, and shot her. Her body was found in a rural part of Lexington County.

Wilson's plea deal includes a minimum of 30-years in prison. A second suspect,

Nicolle Sanchez-Peralta, is currently on trial in the case. The third suspect pleaded guilty last month.
