NRC Concerned Over Cracks At V.C. Summer Nuclear Plant

(Jenkinsville, SC)- The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is expressing concern over the V.C. Summer nuclear plant in Jenkinsville.

In a routine test of equipment at the 40-year-old facility, a minor oil leak was found.

That led to further inspections which discovered more cracks and leaks in the emergency backup systems.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is asking Dominion to address the causes behind the issues as the agency is expected to release a full analysis next month.
