Governor McMaster To Undergo Elective Procedure Friday Morning

(Columbia, SC) - Governor McMaster is scheduled for an outpatient surgery today.

He's having a heart procedure to address an intermittent irregular heartbeat.

The procedure is planned for 8 in the morning, with the governor to be discharged and sent home shortly after the surgery.

The South Carolina Constitution allows Lieutenant Governor Pamela S. Evette to take executive action if there was an emergency while the governor is under general anesthesia.
