Earthquake Recorded In the Columbia Area

(Columbia, SC) -- Another South Carolina earthquake was recorded over the weekend, this time in Columbia. 

A U.S. Geological Survey recorded a one-point-nine magnitude earthquake Sunday night in the midlands.

State News reports the rumbling happened at 10:47 pm near Elgin, about two miles beneath the surface.

The State Department of Natural Resources says the latest report rounds to five confirmed earthquakes this year.

Anyone in Kershaw County who may have felt tremors can report the activity to the The State Department of Natural Resources.
