(Columbia, SC) -- The South Carolina Attorney General's Office says an online teen crime group is to blame for the swatting incident at the University of South Carolina. South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson released a statement on Tuesday saying the group called "Purgatory" was responsible for the USC threat. The threat ended up being a hoax based on two calls reporting an active shooter on campus on August 25th. As of now, no charges have been filed and no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
