An Irmo man is facing charges after receiving a pound of marijuana in the mail.
Authorities announced the arrest yesterday after deciding on the jurisdiction of the case. Kenny Teray Basnight was arrested in November after the Newberry County Sheriff's Office put a home on South Main Street in Prosperity under surveillance.
The sheriff's office had been notified by the U.S. Postal Service that a suspicious package believed to contain illegal drugs was set to be delivered to that address.
Basnight is facing a charge of possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
