Roof's Defense Tried To Suppress Statements, Evidence

Newly-unsealed documents reveal the defense in the case of the man accused in the Charleston church shooting tried to suppress some of the early evidence authorities gathered.

Court documents show a motion was filed by Dylan Roof's attorneys to suppress statements he made just after his arrest and evidence found in his car and home.

Attorneys argued Roof's youth and lack of sleep, along with mental and neurological issues, made him vulnerable to coercion by the police.
