Health officials are urging South Carolinians to get a flu shot.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says South Carolina is one of 40 states reporting the highest level of new flu cases around the country.
The CDC says over 12-thousand cases of Influenza A have been reported across the country contributing to the deaths of 15 children so far this season.
