Senate Confirms Mulvaney As White House Budget Chief

South Carolina Republican Congressman Mick Mulvaney is headed to the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue.

The Senate confirmed the conservative Mulvaney as White House budget chief.

He will be running the sprawling Office of Management and Budget. The vote was very tight, 51-49. Some Republicans were troubled about Mulvaney's past support for cuts in defense spending.
