No Charges Against Officers Involved In Shooting That Left Man Dead

The officers involved in a shooting that killed a suspect in December won't be charged for his death.

The suspect had 19 bullet wounds after a shootout with Sumter police officers. He had a gun and was shooting back at officers even as he was on the ground, according to the solicitor.

During a presentation of the investigation, the solicitor showed footage from dash cams that corroborate with officer statements.

The incident stemmed from a call about the suspect pointing a gun into the car of his 16-year-old girlfriend in a mall parking lot.
